If your organization could continue to do what you do best, AND help to start a movement for long-lasting, positive change with just a few hours of your time - would you do it?
If your organization could participate in a process that helps to move your members/staff/students/volunteers/parishoners from hopelessness and reaction to positive vision and proaction - would you do it?
This is the vision. Let Us Rise seeks to create space for existing organizations to step into something larger and leverage the power you already have, in a new way.
All organizations – non-profits, churches, synagogues, mosques, sanghas, schools, classrooms, clubs, trade unions, co-ops, local businesses, are invited to participate. Convene a 2-hour Visioning Circle with the people that constitute your group (members, staff and board, parishioners, students, etc.), and envision the kind of world you want to create. This site offers a step-by-step Visioning Circle Guide on how to do this.
How to get your organization involvedOrganizations are very different from one another. In some, Executive Directors can make the decision to participate. In others, the board or members decide. Think about who to approach, and schedule a meeting.
What will we get out of participating?
- You get to continue doing what you do best, AND with minimal time, participate in something larger, a movement that unifies us around a common vision and leverages our power to create systemic, long-lasting change.
- Members of your organization will likely experience a shift from negative, reactionary, us/them thinking into hope, positive vision, common ground, and empowerment.
- All participating organizations get a page on our website where you describe what you do and say what you need (volunteer power, funding, etc.). Then, people who participate in visioning salons and are not already involved in an organization can find your group and help you out.
- This is a great way to get to know your constituents better, in a heart-to-heart process.
- Is your organization at a cross-roads? This can be the perfect process to help take your organization forward. Often, when we are ready for a new direction, we don't take a big enough step back to make sure we're making the right choice. Envisioning what we want in our communities, state, country and world is very helpful in this process. And it involves your constituents from the very beginning, helping to ensure they will play a proactive role throughout your organization's transformation.
