Let Us Rise Summer Organizing Internship Program

WHAT IS IT?
Let Us Rise and Rocky Mountain PeaceJam have collaborated to create a PAID Summer Organizing Internship Program designed to engage young people in the Westwood, Barnum, Barnum West, and Valverde area. 

WHY?
The purpose of this program is to provide training and opportunities for youth in addition to implementing creative ways to address needs in the Westwood neighborhood and surrounding area. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a group of up to five dedicated young people (ages 16-20) to work with us for six weeks.  Ideal candidates will live in Westwood, Barnum, Barnum West, and Valverde area, have social justice values, care for their community, have a reliable work ethic, and will be able to work independently as well as with supervision.  Spanish fluency or fluency in another second language (in addition to English) is a plus. 

REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for interns 16-20 years of age who live in the Westwood, Barnum, Barnum West, and Valverde area.  Summer Interns must be available for an average of 12.5 hours per week and must be available weekly on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Interns must be able to attend all mandatory trainings and events. 

WHAT YOU GET IF YOU PARTICIPATE:
TRAINING! Participants will be trained in anti-oppression analysis, organizing skills, facilitation skills, and all of the skills necessary to create projects to address needs in your community. 

CASH!  Interns will be paid $8 per hour.  Based on an average of 12.5 hours per week, interns can expect to be paid approximately $200 every two weeks.  The total budgeted stipend for each intern is $600 but may be adjusted based on work load and attendance.
