***Donate Today and Your Contribution Will Be Tripled!***

Dear LUR Lovers:

Donate Today and Your Contribution Will Be Tripled!

We would like to thank you for your incredible support and generosity over the last few years.  Thanks to your substantial contributions, our small organization has facilitated visioning conversations with over a thousand people, trained hundreds in Social Justice Education, organized hundreds more in direct actions, and developed young community leaders to take our work to the next level.  Today, we are extremely excited to announce that Let Us Rise has received two separate matching grants for $1,000.  One of these grants is from the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado and the other is an anonymous grant.  For any new or increased donations up to $1,000, we will receive matching funds from both of these grants.  That means that your donation is not just matched once, it is matched twice!  If you donate $25 today, we will collect a total of $75!!!  Please consider donating as soon as possible to support some of the most unique and innovative community organizing in the state!  Here is the link to our donation page.

Let Us Rise Update

Today, we are positioned better than ever to organize for vision and community-based change.  While we are extremely excited for the future of our work, the Let Us Rise Task Force is extremely saddened to see Outreach and Programs Director, Mu Son Chi transition out of a staff position. During his leadership he moved to advance the visioning work of Let Us Rise and developed programs in the areas of social justice education and community organizing.  This year he oversaw the launch of Warriors Organizing and Rising in Denver (WORD), our youth organizing program in southwest Denver.  We are excited to see Mu Son continue his activism work at Colorado Progressive Coalition and we are excited to continue to see him in the CommUNITY.  The Let Us Rise Task Force with the ongoing support of Mu Son is working to ensure that our amazing work will continue to grow.  We are working on strategic planning for the next phase of our growth that will help the organization develop its organizational and programmatic focus for the next year.  We will also be restructuring to ensure that we have the staff and the resources to best serve the needs of our commUNITY

What is WORD ?

Warriors Organizing and Rising in Denver (WORD) is our youth organizing program that focuses on community issues in southwest Denver.  We began this program by providing trainings in facilitation, organizing, canvassing, and anti-oppression to a group of young organizers who lived in the area.  Once trained, the youth organizers were tasked with opening a dialogue in their own community about issues, needs, and community visions for the future.  After a week of door-to-door conversations with residents, the youth decided to work on an issue that affected their community as a whole, as well as their own lives, the lives of their friends and the lives of their families.  Because of the police harassment they have experienced and because of the stories shared with them by community members, they chose to start an immigration-based “Know Your Rights” project to educate their neighbors, families, and friends.  Our organizers have gained the tools and leadership skills to facilitate these workshops in their own community and across Denver.  This unique model of community organizing is the only local project that we know of that encompasses youth organizing, neighborhood organizing, immigrant rights.

We Need Your Continued Support!

The goal for our current fundraising campaign is to continue developing and strengthening our Youth Organizing Program in Southwest Denver.  To continue this innovative work, our financial goal is to raise $1,000 from grassroots donors like you by the end of the year.  Given our two matching grants of $1,000 each, this will result in a $3,000 impact.  We are extremely excited about training and organizing with our emerging young leaders.  We are also excited to continue envisioning a more positive and inspired future for our communities and to provide the tools for people to organize in their own communities.  Thanks to your amazing support, we have accomplished some of the most unique and innovative work in Colorado.  Today, we are asking for your support to take our work to the next level.  Together we can continue building and realizing a positive vision for our communities.   Here is the link to our donation page.  Please consider donating today!
